We started smashing burgers in London back in 2017, quickly going from street markets and festivals to our own 7 day-a-week site in Peckham. We worked with the likes of Kerb, House of Vans and Street Feast whilst picking up critical acclaim from the press and in 2020 became the highest rated burger on Deliveroo.
Much of what we do is inspired by places we’ve visited and people we’ve met on our travels around California. Our menu represents the best of what we tasted in and around LA and uses great British produce to create burgers with a nostalgic element. Here at Zephyr we're all about taking you back to those early burger eating memories!
Ever yearning to be back by the coast we decided to relocate to Plymouth in Devon, bought a truck and created DIY burger kits so our original London customers can continue to get their Zephyr fix! (Currently unavailable but should be back soon!)
Our butcher selects the highest graded native breed beef from small farms and then dry ages it on the bone for 28-35 days. We believe it's some of the best beef IN THE UNIVERSE! All our sauces and toppings are made by us from scratch and every burger is smashed to order.
N.B Smashing burgers is an old fashioned method where a ball of beef is pressed onto a hot griddle. We chose this technique because of the crust that forms as a result (known as the Maillard reaction) which creates a really amazing flavour whist retaining a juicy inner.
We think its the best way to create a really good cheeseburger!
You can find us parked behind the Bulletproof Tap Haus on Mutley Plain Lane. We're currently open 5-9 Wednesday - Saturday. Check the menu and order via our new click & and collect or find us on Deliveroo for home delivery.
